Abuse Process

Upon receiving a report of potential abuse involving a domain registered through our service, our abuse team completes a thorough review to ascertain the legitimacy of the claim. The claim is entered into a customer tracking system to ensure timely processing.

For domains directly hosted by us, actions are taken based on the severity of the complaint:

  • The registrant is promptly contacted and provided an opportunity to rectify the issue.
  • Should the situation warrant, the domain`s services may be suspended. The registrant will be informed and given instructions on how to have services reinstated, contingent upon the implementation of corrective measures that our abuse team can verify.
  • In cases of significant concern, the domain`s services will be suspended, and the domain will be subjected to transfer prohibition, update prohibition, and registrar lock.

For domains hosted by a third-party service, our response varies with the complaint`s severity:

  • The complainant is advised to directly contact the domain`s hosting provider for assistance.
  • If necessary, to protect potential internet users, we may suspend the domain`s services. The registrant will be informed of this action and provided with the option to have services restored, pending corrective action that is confirmed by our abuse team.
  • For serious violations, the domain`s services will be suspended, and the domain will be placed under transfer prohibition, update prohibition, and registrar lock.
